Help Preserve Sipson Island
for Generations to Come!
It's not often an opportunity like this comes around. Sipson Island has been owned privately since 1711. Now, the Friends of Pleasant Bay, in conjunction with Sipson Island Trust and The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts, have secured the ability to conserve, protect and provide public access to Sipson Island forever. Yes, forever! But we need your help to make it happen.
Learn more about the beauty and recreational opportunities that Sipson Island offers and then help us purchase the Island and place a Conservation Restriction on its development in order to protect it today and for future generations.
Imagine launching your kayak from one of 15+ public access points around Pleasant Bay and paddling to Sipson Island for a stroll along a grassy path to a lookout deck with 360 degree views for a picnic lunch. Or anchoring your boat along the shoreline of one of Sipson Island's sandy beaches to enjoy a peaceful swim. Consider the influence on the lives of a group of third graders as they discover ancient Native American shell mounds and learn about our treasured marine environment after the short trip to Sipson Island on the solar-powered Friends of Pleasant Bay Floating Classroom Research Vessel.
